Privacy Policy

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE — set at launch, after legal review]

DRAFT — not for publication. Drafted to accurately describe what the Service actually collects and does. Every ⚖️ LEGAL REVIEW note below must be resolved by qualified counsel, and all such notes removed, before this page is published.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Funk Corporate LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Zeltru (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service. Funk Corporate LLC is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

By using Zeltru, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see your plaintext password. We record that you confirmed you are 18 or older and accepted the Terms.
  • Optional profile information: you may add a display name, first name, general location (a U.S. state), and an age range. These are optional and under your control.
  • Reports you submit: structured, fixed-answer selections about your own hiring experiences (outcome, interview stage, timing, recruiter-behavior selections, interview-rigor selection), and a job title and location you associate with the report. There is no free-text field in a report, so reports do not capture open-ended personal narrative.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Our infrastructure providers may log basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and access times) for security and operational purposes.
  • We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics cookies, or tracking pixels in the mobile app, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required consent mechanism.

⚖️ LEGAL REVIEW: the website (as opposed to the mobile app) may use privacy-friendly product analytics; confirm the exact analytics/logging in production and align this section to it.

2.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect your date of birth (only an age range, if you provide one), your device's precise or GPS location, or any government identification. The "location" in a report is a job location you type (such as a city), not your device location — the app requests no location permission.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account and verify your email;
  • let you submit and manage your reports;
  • compute and display aggregated statistics derived from reports;
  • enforce our rules (for example, one report per role per account, and rate limits) and prevent abuse;
  • operate, secure, and improve the Service, and communicate with you about it;
  • comply with legal obligations.

4. How Your Reports Relate to Your Account

Publicly, Zeltru shows only aggregated statistics. No individual report is displayed with your name, email, or profile, and other users cannot see your individual reports or determine which reports you submitted. Raw report records are not exposed to other users.

Internally, your reports are associated with your account. Each report is stored with an identifier linking it to the account that submitted it. We use that link to enforce one report per role, apply rate limits, respond to flags and disputes, and delete your reports if you delete your account. Our administrators can determine which account submitted a given report; other users cannot.

Your optional profile information is private to your account and is not shown to other users.

⚖️ LEGAL REVIEW: this section deliberately replaces earlier language that described reports as "structurally separate" from identity or claimed "no link between your profile and your reports." That was not accurate — reports carry the submitting account's identifier. Please confirm the anonymity representations you are comfortable making, since over-stating anonymity creates legal exposure.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers (subprocessors): we use third parties to run the Service — for example, database and authentication hosting, application hosting, and transactional email delivery. They process information on our behalf under their terms.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Funk Corporate LLC, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfer: if Funk Corporate LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

⚖️ LEGAL REVIEW: confirm whether to name specific subprocessors (e.g., the database/auth provider, hosting provider, and email provider) and maintain a subprocessor list, versus the general description above. Also confirm data-processing agreements are in place with each.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls that restrict each user to their own data, hashed storage of credentials, use of privileged server-side keys only in our backend, and administrative safeguards. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Funk Corporate LLC is not liable for exposure of information resulting from a data breach, unauthorized access, third-party attack, or technical error.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account information and reports while your account is active. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete account). When you do, we delete your account and the reports you submitted, and we anonymize job postings you created (removing the link to you). We may retain limited information where required for legal or legitimate operational purposes, and aggregated statistics that no longer identify your individual report may persist.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can delete your account and its data directly in the app, update optional profile information in your account, or contact us at the address in Section 11.

⚖️ LEGAL REVIEW: if you have California, other U.S. state, or EU/UK users, confirm which privacy laws apply (CCPA/CPRA, other state laws, GDPR/UK GDPR) and add the specific required disclosures, request mechanisms, and response timelines.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it and terminate the account.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes and Contact

We may update this Policy from time to time; we will update the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page. For questions or to exercise your rights:
